Blessed Beltane

Blessed be to ye who celebrate Beltane! For the rest I wish you all a happy May Day!

Today is the first day of summer in some ancient cultures and the day to celebrate life by sharing flowers, lighting bonfires, or dancing around a May Pole. It is the day between the Vernal Equinox and the Summer Solstice.

It is my practice to honor the cycle of the earth and seasons, and I acknowledge today with a gift to you. Please enjoy these lilacs.

  1. What a wonderful gift!! Lilacs have always been one of my favorite flowers and one of my favorite smells!! Thank you for the gift!!!! Happy May Day to you!!

  2. I love lilacs as well. Sadly, when I returned from a brief visit to Florida, my lilacs were spent. It seems they went so quickly this year. I didn't have time to clip some to bring them inside. Oh well...summer is on it's way.

  3. My lilac bushes are just sprouting with only 1/2 inch of growth to the buds. I'm in Maine here and it got below freezing last night. Thank you for the picture of the lilacs to give me hope there will someday be a spring..Happy May Day to you! Joyce

  4. A pagan after my own heart! Lovely photo...I can almost smell them from here.
